Any special offer generally increases waste because the item has less monetary value. So we don’t care when we waste it because it has not cost us anything extra!
The fact that bigger players’ profits are not always reliant on a SALE!!!
They can offset their profit
By borrowing against the brand’s value!!

Amazon could sell Harry Potter at a massive discount because the increase in its share price covered the business’s losses!!!

Due to the volume of sales,

On the gamble that £100 is better than £50 if you can push the units!!
Or worse, inflate their prices knowing their sales are discounted to make up the yearly margin.
Not fair to those who can’t wait for the discount!!!
(I have just used two offers at the Co-op for £1.00 off anything and £0.25 off a packet of Own-Brand biscuits. £1.25 loss for an almost-bankrupt national UK supermarket. I basically got a packet of own-brand biscuits with a free 150g own-brand crisps.)
